Founded in 2006, the TapStats company was founded and self funded to build a revolutionary stat display system for media and game-day staff that reliably and effectively displays live stat data during an event. This system was built to replace an antiquated system still in place at many locations and was designed using state-of-the-art technology to provide users easy access to every important piece of data available.

In 2007, the first TapStats installation was made at the University of Kansas for use at Football and Men’s & Women’s Basketball events. Once installed, it was an immediate success! High praise has been received by TV & Radio announcers, Athletic Directors, Sports Information Directors, columnists and many more. We welcomed their initial feedback and tweaked the interface frequently to display the data most effectively for their line of work. The final product is a combination of many comments and is in a format accepted by all types of users.

In 2008, 2010 and 2011, we were invited to the Big 12 Tournament to provide stat data to the 500+ media & television crew at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. We were extremely excited for the opportunity to show off our product to all the Big 12 schools and the response was unanimous. We were also featured in the news (click here to view the article) describing the system and our opportunity at the Big 12 tournament. Please take a look at our article; it provides a lot of insight to our company and contains first-hand comments about of the system.

Today, our goal remains the same: to provide the most reliable & comprehensive live stats in the industry while adding additional features found nowhere else. We wanted to ensure the system was flawless before announcing this product for public availability and have worked hard to achieve this goal. Our original platform was morphed into a new era once the Apple iPad was announced.

This new hardware platform provides us a way to make TapStats portable and also allows the general public to become involved in TapStats as well. We see this is as a vital part of our business as fans beg for the opportunity to have live stats at their fingertips. Competitor products are often delayed 2 minutes or more and severely lack in the amount of data displayed. At the same time, the TapStats product gives the school an additional opportunity to market an official iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad application branded with their logo and receive a portion of revenue from the sales.

Coming from a career in college athletics myself, we know what is required to get the job done and hope to gain your business in this exciting area of college sports!
